Remedies for Pithori Amavasya
On Pithori Amavasya, you can seek liberation for your ancestors at the *Pishach Mochan Kund* in Kashi (Varanasi), the city of Lord Shiva. Rituals performed at *Pishach Mochan Kund* help settle ancestral debts and liberate souls. This sacred *Kund* is described in the *Kashi Khand* of the *Garuda Purana*.

In the *Bhagavad Gita*, Lord Krishna states that the soul is eternal and imperishable. However, the souls of those who meet an untimely death often wander. In Kashi, such souls attain *Moksha* (liberation).

Visit *Pishach Mochan Kund* on Pithori Amavasya to address *Pitra Dosh* and seek liberation for your ancestors. Performing *Tripindi Shraddha* and *Tarpan* (offering water to ancestors) there will be beneficial for you.

If you are unable to visit *Pishach Mochan Kund* on Pithori Amavasya, take a holy bath in the morning when the Amavasya *tithi* begins. Then, remembering your ancestors, offer them water using *Kusha* grass and perform *Tarpan*. Water offered using *Kusha* grass reaches the ancestors, and, being satisfied, they bestow their blessings.

In addition to *Tarpan*, one can perform *Pind Daan* and *Shraddha* rituals for the peace of the ancestors. Donate white clothes and food grains while remembering them; this, too, helps alleviate *Pitra Dosh*.

On the day of *Pithori Amavasya*, worship the Peepal tree and offer water to it. Light an oil lamp beneath the tree in the evening; this will please your ancestors.
