Perform these 5 remedies on Kalashtami—the easiest way to seek the blessings of Lord Kaal Bhairav..

In the Hindu calendar, every lunar day (*tithi*) and day of the week (*vaar*) holds special religious significance. Among these important dates, Kalashtami holds a distinct place. This festival is observed on the *Ashtami* (eighth day) of the *Krishna Paksha* (waning phase of the moon) every month. On this day, Lord Kaal Bhairav—considered a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva—is worshipped with prescribed rituals. According to religious belief, worshipping Kaal Bhairav with sincere devotion protects devotees from fear, crises, negative energy, and life's troubles. Astrologer Anand Bhardwaj from Ujjain notes that Kalashtami is considered highly auspicious for spiritual practice (*sadhana*) and special remedial measures. Remedies performed on this day are believed to help remove obstacles in life.

According to the Vedic calendar, the *Ashtami tithi* of the *Bhadrapada Krishna Paksha* begins at 02:25 AM on September 4, 2026, and concludes at 12:13 AM (midnight) on September 5, 2026. Based on the *Udaya Tithi* (the sunrise date), the Kalashtami fast will be observed on Friday, September 4, 2026. Devotees can worship Lord Kaal Bhairav and seek his blessings on this day.

**Remedies to Perform**
1. On Kalashtami, visit a Bhairav temple and obtain a small amount of *sindoor* (vermilion) that has been offered at the feet of Lord Bhairav. Apply it to a black thread and chant the mantra: ‘Om Hreem Batukaya Apaduddharanaya Kuru Kuru Batukaya Hreem’. Afterward, tie the thread around your neck or on the wrist of your right hand. It is believed that this remedy helps protect against negative energy and the evil eye.

2. If, despite all efforts, you are facing a persistent lack or void in your life, you can try this remedy on Kalashtami. Offer a black thread at the feet of Bhairav Baba. Meditate for five minutes and then tie it around your right ankle. It is believed that this removes obstacles.

3. To find relief from health issues or long-standing troubles, feed a black dog a *roti* (flatbread) smeared with mustard oil while silently remembering Lord Kaal Bhairav.

4. To seek wealth, prosperity, and material comforts, chant the Bhairav mantra while lighting a mustard oil lamp in an earthen diya. If there is tension within the family, sit before Lord Shiva after bathing and recite the Shiva Chalisa with devotion.

5. Donating *urad dal* (black gram) on Kalashtami invokes the blessings of Lord Shani; *urad dal* is associated with the planet Saturn. This practice also fosters a harmonious love life.
