The film *Om Chapter 1: Uthiram – The Blood Wood* is set to hit theaters soon. The makers have announced the film's new release date. Previously, the release had been postponed due to a potential clash with another film.

**When will ‘Om Chapter 1’ be released?**
The new release date for *Om Chapter 1: Uthiram – The Blood Wood*, starring Dhanush and Mammootty, has been announced. The film will release in theaters on November 20, 2026. On Friday, the makers revealed the release date alongside posters featuring Dhanush and Mammootty, showing both actors standing with guns in an action-packed pose.

**Release date postponed earlier**
Dhanush had previously shared details about the release date of *Om: Chapter 1* via an Instagram post. He wrote, "At a time like this, postponing a film's release brings its own set of challenges. Our superstar Rajinikanth sir—whom we have long considered our idol and a revered figure—has a film releasing on October 15, just a day before ours. Out of immense respect for him, we have decided to postpone the release of our film *Om* to a later date."

**Avoiding clashes with Hindi films**
Initially, the release of *Om: Chapter 1* was postponed to avoid a clash with major South Indian films scheduled for October. However, by scheduling the new release for November, the film will also avoid clashing with several mega-budget releases. Ranbir Kapoor’s *Ramayana* is slated for the Diwali period, and South Indian actor Suriya’s film *Seen* is also set to release around that time. With the new date, Dhanush’s film can now release without any such clashes. Star Cast of the Film ‘Om’

The film is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. Dhanush and Mammootty will appear in key roles.
Apart from these stars, Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela, and veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah are also part of the film.
This film marks the second time actor Dhanush and Rajkumar Periasamy are collaborating on a major project.
