Noida International Airport: Construction work on the Noida International Airport, currently being built in Jewar, has now entered its final phase. The airport is scheduled to be inaugurated on March 28, 2026. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this major greenfield airport project. Commercial flight operations are expected to commence shortly thereafter. According to Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, flight services typically begin within 45 days to two months after an aerodrome license is granted. Consequently, it is anticipated that flights from the Noida International Airport could commence very soon after the formal inauguration.

An Airport Equipped with Modern Technology
The Noida Airport has been designed using state-of-the-art technology. It will utilize the ILS (Instrument Landing System) CAT-III technology. The advantage of this system is that aircraft will be able to land even during dense fog. Flight operations will remain unaffected even during rainfall, enabling pilots to execute safe landings even under conditions of low visibility. Currently, this facility is available in India only at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai.
Airlines Expected to Launch Services
According to media reports, three major airlines are likely to launch their services from this airport during the first phase:
- IndiGo
- Akasa Air
- Air India Express
The launch of these airlines will provide passengers with enhanced options for both domestic and international flights.
Handling 30 Flights Per Hour
The Noida Airport will feature parallel runway operations, enabling the rapid and efficient management of air traffic. Approximately 30 aircraft will be able to take off and land within a single hour. This will ensure improved connectivity and reduced travel times for passengers.
