Navratri Remedies 2026: The festival of Navratri begins on Sunday, October 11. These nine days are dedicated to the worship and service of Goddess Durga. Devotees observe fasts and perform rituals according to their capacity to please the Goddess and fulfill their heartfelt wishes. This Navratri, you can seek Goddess Durga's blessings by performing five specific acts starting from the very first day—Ashwin Shukla Pratipada.
Five Acts to Perform During Navratri

**Kalash Sthapana (Installation of the Sacred Pot)**
Perform the *Kalash Sthapana* on the first day of Navratri. The *Kalash* symbolizes Goddess Durga, as well as power and life. Before commencing the fast and worship, the *Kalash* is installed to invoke the Goddess. Throughout the nine days, it keeps you connected to devotion, service, chanting, and penance, while also serving as a witness to your virtuous deeds.
**Recitation of Durga Saptashati**
You should begin reciting the *Durga Saptashati* from the first day of Navratri. Ideally, the entire text should be read daily, as it glorifies Goddess Durga. If you are short on time, recite the three key components daily: *Devi Kavach*, *Argala Stotra*, and *Kilak Stotra*. Then, on a day when you have more time, recite all 13 chapters of the *Durga Saptashati*. Alternatively, you can divide the 13 chapters across the nine days and recite them accordingly, while continuing to recite the three key components daily. Reciting the *Durga Saptashati* alleviates suffering and fulfills wishes through the grace of Goddess Durga.
Mantra Chanting
Devotees should chant the *Navarna Mantra* during Navratri. The *Navarna Mantra* is: *Om Aim Hreem Kleem Chamundayai Vichche*. Chanting this mantra allows one to worship the three divine powers: Goddess Saraswati, Goddess Lakshmi, and Goddess Kali. You may chant this mantra using a Rudraksha rosary. If time is limited, you can chant it at least once around the rosary—that is, 108 times. This is a primary mantra to be chanted daily throughout the nine days of Navratri.
**Kanya Bhoj (Feeding Young Girls)**
The worship of young girls (*Kanya Puja*) is a significant part of Navratri. It is believed that the nine forms of Goddess Durga are manifested in these young girls. If you have the means, consider feeding young girls from your neighborhood daily—from *Pratipada* (the first day) to *Mahanavami* (the ninth day)—or visit an orphanage to provide meals for the girls there. Their happiness will bring you blessings; indeed, their blessings are considered the blessings of the Goddess herself.
**Charity**
Navratri is a festival dedicated not only to the fulfillment of personal wishes but also to the service of humanity. During this time, extend help to the poor and needy. Arrange for essentials such as clothing, food grains, medicines, fruits, and footwear for them. If you are unable to perform rituals like *Kalash Sthapana* (installing the sacred pot), mantra chanting, or scriptural recitations, you can instead serve humanity and living beings with a sincere heart. Those with the means can specifically bear the expenses for the upbringing and education of young girls, helping them become self-reliant.

Such acts of charity will bring peace to your mind and fulfill the true purpose of human life—being of service to others. You may have heard stories of individuals who spent their entire lives chanting prayers yet failed to attain *Moksha* (liberation), whereas those who serve others are liberated from the cycle of birth and death through the grace of the Goddess.
