In Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, *Rasmalai* is often prepared using bread. If you have six or seven slices of bread and some milk powder at home, you can make a delicious version of *Rasmalai*. It is very easy to make and takes barely 10 minutes. First, cut the bread into small, round shapes. Then, place a filling of milk powder between two slices of bread and press them together.

**First, boil half a liter of milk thoroughly**
Jyoti from Ranchi explains that you should take half a liter of milk and boil it well on the stove. Add at least two spoonfuls of sugar, a little cardamom powder, and some saffron. If you don't have saffron but have *Rooh Afza* at home, you can use that instead—add at least three tablespoons—and let the milk boil properly.
**Now, prepare the filling using milk powder**
Take a packet of milk powder (worth ₹5 or ₹10), add four spoonfuls of hot milk to it, and mix well. You can also mix in a paste of dry fruits. Stir everything thoroughly with a spoon to create a thick paste and set it aside.
**Now, take the bread**
Next, take a slice of bread and cut it into a round shape using a small bowl. Prepare 8 to 9 such bread rounds. Take two pieces, spread the prepared paste between them, and press them together.

**Finally, pour the boiled milk over the bread**
Arrange the bread neatly on a plate and pour the hot milk over it. You will find it absolutely delicious—it will put store-bought *Rasmalai* to shame. It is a wonderful treat to make for the children at home. If you are in the mood for something different or something sweet for an evening snack, this is the perfect option.
