Superstar Rajinikanth’s film 'Jailer 2' is performing exceptionally well at the global box office. However, its screening has been halted at a theater in Canada. Audiences at York Cinemas were unable to witness Rajini’s magic on screen. Find out why the screening was stopped.

What was the reason for halting the screening?
The screening of 'Jailer 2' was stopped at York Cinemas in Canada. The theater announced this on its social media account, explaining the reason behind the decision. They wrote, "We regret to inform you that 'Jailer 2' will no longer be screened at York Cinemas, effective Wednesday, October 21. Current circumstances are beyond our control. The KDM (Key Delivery Message)—required to screen the film—was to be provided by the North American distributors, Shloka Entertainments and Prathyangira Cinemas. Additionally, necessary clearances were required from the production company, Sun Pictures. Despite all payments being made, these formalities have not yet been completed. Consequently, it is not possible to continue the screenings due to technical reasons."
A message to the audience
In the same post, York Cinemas expressed regret and apologized to the audience for the inconvenience caused. The management stated that they had made every possible effort to ensure the screenings continued, but were ultimately unsuccessful. While apologizing for the trouble, the cinema also expressed gratitude to the audience for their continued cooperation, support, and patience.
Box office earnings cross the ₹500 crore mark.
On its opening day in India, 'Jailer 2' recorded a net collection of ₹59.70 crore. By its sixth day of release—Tuesday—the film earned ₹45.55 crore.
The film’s total net collection in India has now reached ₹287.80 crore. With this, the film has grossed 541 crore rupees worldwide.
The film has been directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
