Home Remedies for Mosquitoes: While the rainy season brings cool breezes and lush greenery, it also leads to an increase in mosquitoes, flies, and various other insects. Their presence in corners of the house, the kitchen, the balcony, or the bathroom is not just a nuisance but can also pose health risks. If you want to get rid of them without spending much, some simple home remedies can help. These methods not only improve the home environment but also prevent frequent disturbances to your sleep at night.

Neem leaves or Neem smoke.
Neem is considered a natural insect repellent. Creating a mild smoke using dried neem leaves in the evening helps keep mosquitoes and small insects away. Placing neem leaves around the house can also be beneficial.
Use camphor and cloves.
Place 5–6 cloves in a bowl along with some camphor and keep it in a corner of the room. Its aroma helps repel various flying insects and mosquitoes. This remedy is considered very effective at night, allowing you to sleep peacefully.
Simple lemon and clove trick
Cut a lemon in half and insert 8–10 cloves into it. Place this near a window, door, or in the bedroom. Its strong aroma helps keep mosquitoes and flies away.
Prevent water stagnation
During the monsoon, do not allow water to collect in flower pots, air coolers, buckets, on the roof, or anywhere in the vicinity. Stagnant water is a primary breeding ground for mosquitoes. Make sure to change the water in your air cooler at least once a week.
Plant Tulsi (Holy Basil) and Lemongrass
The aroma of Tulsi and Lemongrass naturally helps repel many insects and mosquitoes. These plants can be grown on balconies, near windows, or close to the home's entrance. This also helps keep the home environment fresh.
Pay special attention to cleanliness.
Do not leave dirty dishes in the kitchen for extended periods. Empty the dustbin daily and keep it covered with a lid. Regularly cleaning floors and drains can help reduce the presence of flies and insects.
Keep these points in mind as well.
If there is a heavy mosquito infestation or an increased risk of diseases like Dengue, Malaria, and Chikungunya, do not rely solely on home remedies. Use mosquito nets, install window screens, and adopt safe pest control measures if necessary. Consult a doctor immediately if anyone exhibits high fever, body aches, or other severe symptoms.
