Hariyali Teej 2026: The festival of Hariyali Teej holds special significance for married women. It is believed that observing a fast on this day fosters love and harmony in the lives of married couples and brings the blessing of longevity for the husband. According to the scriptures, this day is dedicated to Lord Shiva (Mahadev) and Goddess Parvati; therefore, the ritual involves worshipping the entire Shiva family. Such worship is said to enhance happiness and prosperity in life while strengthening family unity and relationships. It is essential to perform the Hariyali Teej rituals with full devotion and adherence to prescribed procedures to please Goddess Parvati and receive her blessings. Let us now look at the complete worship ritual for this day.

When is Hariyali Teej 2026?
This year, the *Tritiya Tithi* (third day of the lunar fortnight) begins at 6:46 PM on August 14 and concludes at 5:28 PM on August 15. Based on the *Udaya Tithi* (the sunrise date), the Hariyali Teej fast will be observed on August 15, 2026.

Worship Ritual
On the day of Hariyali Teej, women should adorn themselves in traditional finery (*Solah Shringar*) and ensure the home is clean and tidy before commencing the worship.
To begin the ritual, spread a clean cloth over a raised platform (*chowki*) and place an image or idol of the Shiva family; then, offer garments to Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and Lord Ganesha.
If there is a *Shivling* at home, perform *Abhishek* (ritual bathing) using water, milk, or *Panchamrit*. Alternatively, you may visit a temple to perform the *Abhishek* of Lord Shiva. After performing the *Abhishek* of Lord Shiva, offer *Panchamrit* as *Bhog* (sacred offering) to the deity. Along with this, offer *Belpatra* (wood apple leaves) as well.

Next, offer a green saree and a complete set of *Shringar* (traditional adornments) to Goddess Parvati.
Include seasonal fruits, sweets, and items for charity in the worship ritual.
Following this, read or listen to the *Hariyali Teej Vrat Katha* (ritual narrative) with devotion and apply a sandalwood *tilak* to the deities of the Shiva family.
Finally, light a *ghee* lamp and perform the *Aarti* of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and the entire Shiva family.
After concluding the worship, pray for the fulfillment of your wishes and for the happiness and prosperity of your family.
