Haiwaan: Saif Ali Khan shares a major update regarding Akshay Kumar's character in 'Haiwaan', says, "It is a dangerous and negative role..."

The film 'Haivan', starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, has been one of the most anticipated movies of the year. While fans eagerly await more details about the film, Saif Ali Khan has now shed some light on Akshay Kumar's character. In a recent interview, Saif revealed that Akshay will be seen playing a menacing negative role.

Speaking to 'Variety India', Saif Ali Khan said, "We are very fortunate that he is playing this role in the film. It is even more exciting because it is a dangerous, negative role, and I have rarely seen him do something like this. I am very excited to see it."

Discussing his relationship with Akshay, Saif said, "I really like Akshay. He is like an elder brother to me. We have known each other for a long time. One holds a special respect for someone who has worked for so long. We have seen a lot together. Our chemistry has always been great."

Speaking about their rapport on set, Saif said, "Priyan (director Priyadarshan) Sir tends to overlook us a bit. He says, 'You guys are behaving like naughty children.' Akshay says, 'He brings that side out in me.' I tell him, 'You bring that side out in me.' Ever since we met on set, we’ve just been talking nonsense. When we are alone, we are a bit more sensible. But together..."

Saif was also asked if fans would get to see the comedy between him and Akshay in the film. The actor explained that this project is different. He said, "This film doesn't rely on that comedy chemistry—which is a good thing, because I feel that era has passed." Meanwhile, the makers of the upcoming thrilling film recently announced that it will be released on the big screen on September 11, 2026. Directed by Priyadarshan, 'Haivan' is a gripping thriller filled with suspense and high-stakes drama. The film also features an excellent supporting cast, including Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher.

'Haivan' is the Hindi remake of Priyadarshan's 2016 Malayalam hit 'Oppam', which starred Mohanlal in the lead role. Adding to the excitement, Mohanlal will also appear in a special cameo in the Hindi version.
