Gupt Navratri 2026: Gupt Navratri is considered special for Tantric Siddhi; find out when it begins..

Gupt Navratri is observed twice a year—during the months of Ashadha and Magh. The Gupt Navratri of the Ashadha month begins on July 15 and concludes on July 24. This particular Navratri is considered significant for *Tantra Vidya* (esoteric practices) and the attainment of *Shakti* (divine power). The mere mention of Durga Puja generates great enthusiasm among people. Navratri arrives four times a year for the worship of Goddess Durga and her various forms. Two of these are the common Navratris known as Vasant Navratri and Sharadiya Navratri, which are celebrated in households everywhere. The other two are Gupt Navratris, which are regarded as special occasions for *Tantric Siddhi* (spiritual mastery), *Tantric* worship, and *Sadhana* (spiritual practice).

It is worth noting that the *Pratipada Tithi* (first day) of the *Shukla Paksha* (waxing phase of the moon) in the month of Ashadha begins at 3:12 PM on July 14 and concludes at 11:50 AM on July 15. According to Hindu scriptures, which prioritize *Udaya Tithi* (the sunrise tithi), the *Pratipada Tithi* is considered valid on July 15. The *Kalash Sthapana* (ritual installation of the sacred pot) for Gupt Navratri commences on this day. Pandit Manotpal Jha of Purnia explains that the Navratri observed during the month of Ashadha is known as Gupt Navratri. This period is considered auspicious for *Sadhana*, chanting mantras, *Tantric* practices, worshipping the *Dash Mahavidyas* (ten forms of the Goddess), and attaining spiritual power and mastery.

According to religious beliefs, spiritual practices undertaken during Gupt Navratri are considered to yield quick results. This period is highly significant for *Tantric* or specialized spiritual practices. Worship during Gupt Navratri is also performed with special significance at the Kamakhya Temple. Pandit Manotpal Jha states that the Ashadha Gupt Navratri begins with *Kalash Sthapana* on July 15 and concludes on July 24 with Vijayadashami. He further noted that *Maha Ashtami* will be observed on July 22, *Navami Tithi* on July 23, and *Vijayadashami* on July 24.
