Both gold and silver are witnessing continuous fluctuations. Prices for these metals have been anything but stable lately. A persistent decline in gold prices is being observed. Amid this, several major banks are forecasting that gold prices are set to skyrocket and break all previous records. Today—Thursday, September 24—gold prices saw a surge in the global market, while silver lost its luster.

**How much did gold prices rise in the international market?**
In the international market (specifically Comex), gold prices have risen, whereas silver prices have fallen. According to Comex data available at the time of writing, gold rose by 0.10%, reaching $4,322.60 per ounce. Meanwhile, silver prices dropped by 0.68%, trading at $64.520 per ounce.
**Did prices rise or fall in the domestic market?**
Prices for both gold and silver have declined in the bullion (domestic) market. On the MCX, gold was seen trading at around ₹1.51 lakh per 10 grams following a drop. Similarly, silver prices fell to trade at approximately ₹2.34 lakh per kilogram.
**How much did prices fall on the MCX?**
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold for October delivery fell by ₹349, trading at ₹1,51,170 per 10 grams at the time of writing. Silver prices dropped by ₹1,200, reaching ₹2,34,716 per kilogram.

In this scenario, 24-carat gold is trading at around ₹1,51,840 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold remains at approximately ₹1,39,187 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, 18-carat gold is trending near ₹1,13,880 per 10 grams. Silver prices in India were seen trading at approximately ₹2,34,550 per kilogram.
