Get full PF updates on WhatsApp just by typing 'Hi'—here’s how EPFO’s new service works..

Accessing essential information regarding PF, pensions, and insurance has now become easier for employees. On November 1, 2026—coinciding with the EPFO’s Foundation Day—Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Mansukh Mandaviya, officially launched the EPFO’s WhatsApp services. Through this facility, employees can receive updates on their PF passbook, check their balance, stay informed about important dates, and access other useful information directly on their mobile phones.

What information is available on WhatsApp?
This EPFO facility primarily provides information related to three key schemes:

1. EPF (Employees' Provident Fund): Users can download their PF passbook directly via WhatsApp, making it easy to review the full details of their contributions.
2. EPF Balance Check: Members can instantly view their PF account balance without needing to log in to the portal repeatedly.
3. EPF Transaction History: Members can immediately access details of the last five transactions made in their accounts.

How to access the service? (Step-by-step process)
As a special offering for Diwali, the EPFO has introduced this facility, allowing employees to easily obtain information by following a few simple steps:

Save the number: First, save the official EPFO WhatsApp number—+91 8796441800—to your mobile phone.
Send a message: Open WhatsApp and send "Hi" to the saved number.
Select an option: Follow the instructions provided in the chat and choose the service you require.

Access via QR Code: Members can also enter the WhatsApp chat directly by scanning the official QR code issued by the EPFO.
Please note: Account holders should only use the official number issued by the EPFO (+91 8796441800). Never share your bank details, passwords, or OTPs with any unauthorized person.
