A fatwa has been issued against Aamir Khan. Maulana Ibrahim Hussain, the Shahi Mufti of the Darul Ifta, issued this fatwa, declaring the marriage to Gauri *haram* (forbidden) because she is a non-Muslim. Aamir is facing trolling from both Hindu and Muslim quarters. He gave a befitting reply to his critics, pointing out that his daughter and sisters have married Hindu men.

According to the *Deccan Chronicle*, Aamir Khan said, "The truth is that our family is very inclusive and open-minded. Both my sisters are married to Hindus, and my daughter is also married to a Hindu."

Aamir Khan added, "My cousin Mansoor married a Christian woman. Gauri, Reena, and Kiran did not change their religion when they married me, as ours were civil marriages. Gauri is not Hindu; she is Christian..."

Aamir Khan continued, "...and she is a Christian who does not strictly observe religious practices. As time passes, life is becoming even more enjoyable."

Aamir Khan also clarified reports claiming he was building a 'sky villa'—designed to house multiple generations—at a cost of ₹100 crore in the posh Pali Hill area of ​​Bandra West, Mumbai.

Aamir Khan stated, "Like other parts of Mumbai, our apartment complex is undergoing redevelopment. This decision was taken by our housing society, which consists of 24 members, including myself." A builder is also involved in this; he has purchased the majority of the building and is now its owner.

According to ANI, Maulana Ibrahim Hussain—who issued the fatwa against Aamir Khan—stated that, based on his understanding of Islamic law, Aamir's marriage to Gauri is not valid. This is because a Muslim man cannot marry a non-Muslim woman unless she converts to Islam. He further added that Muslims who marry non-Muslim women are committing a sin, and such marriages are considered *haram* (forbidden).

Moreover, Bajrang Dal activists in Forbesganj, Bihar, accused Aamir Khan of 'Love Jihad' and burned his effigy. The Bajrang Dal alleged that Aamir is deliberately targeting the Hindu community.
