FASTag Pass: 10 million people have already obtained a FASTag; if you want to get one now, here is the process..
The FASTag Annual Pass, launched on August 15 last year, has gained immense popularity among the public. So far, 10 million (1 crore) vehicle owners have adopted it. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways provided this information. According to the Ministry, this annual pass is applicable at approximately 1,150 toll plazas across the country, covering both national highways and national expressways. With this pass, vehicle owners do not need to repeatedly recharge their FASTag. A one-time payment of ₹3,075 makes the pass valid for one year or up to 200 toll crossings—meaning you can pass through a toll 200 times using it.
According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, FASTag penetration in the country has now exceeded 98 percent, with approximately 130 million (13 crore) vehicle owners using it. FASTag has revolutionized the electronic toll collection system in India; it has not only enhanced transparency at toll plazas but also made travel smoother for the public. The FASTag Annual Pass has reduced the hassle of stopping at toll plazas and offers a cost-effective, convenient travel option.
How to get the FASTag Annual Pass?
Obtaining the FASTag Annual Pass is very easy. It can be activated on your existing FASTag. For this, the FASTag must be correctly affixed to the vehicle's windshield and linked to a valid vehicle registration number (VRN). This pass is highly beneficial for frequent travelers. You can purchase it via the 'Rajmarg Yatra' app or the NHAI website. Here is how you can get the pass using the Rajmarg Yatra app:
Go to the Rajmarg Yatra app.
Select the ‘Annual Pass’ option.
Click on ‘Pre-book’.
A ‘Ready to Get Started’ page will open; click on ‘Get Started’. Now, enter your vehicle number.
The vehicle details will appear; please review them.
An OTP will be sent to your number. You can also enter a different number here.
Enter the OTP and click on ‘Proceed’.
The payment option will now appear. Complete the payment of ₹3,075 using UPI, debit/credit card, or net banking.
After this, click on ‘Continue and Pay’.
