Dharma Productions' Dostana 2 is one of those films that has undergone several major casting changes over the past few years. Now, it seems this trend won't stop. Initially, the film began shooting with Lakshya, Kartik Aaryan, and Janhvi Kapoor.

It was later reported that the project was shelved following alleged differences between Kartik and the filmmakers. A new actor was added to the cast in 2025. Vikrant Massey joined the collaboration with Dharma, and Lakshya's name remained. The latest news concerns the film's female lead.

Priyanka Chopra appeared in the first part.
According to a recent report by Variety India, former Miss India Sini Shetty may play the lead role. This would also be her acting debut. She was crowned Femina Miss India World in 2022. The report states that the filmmakers were considering three actresses before finalizing Shetty.

Interestingly, Priyanka Chopra, who starred in Part 1 of "Dostana," is also a former Miss World. It was previously reported that Pratibha Ranta of "Missing Ladies" fame would play the lead role. However, it is now believed that Ranta has been replaced by Sini Shetty.

Who is Sini Shetty?
Sini Sadanand Shetty is an Indian beauty pageant winner who won the title of Femina Miss India World 2022. She represented India at Miss World 2023. Born in Mumbai and hailing from Karnataka, Sini holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from SK Somaiya College, Mumbai. She is also a trained Bharatnatyam dancer.
