In Hinduism, the month of Sawan is considered extremely auspicious for the worship of Lord Shiva. The festival of Nag Panchami is celebrated with great devotion and faith on the *Panchami Tithi* (fifth day) of the *Shukla Paksha* (waxing phase of the moon) during this holy month. Worshipping the Serpent Deity (*Nag Devta*) on this day holds special significance. According to religious beliefs, performing the *Nag Puja* (serpent worship) with the prescribed rituals helps mitigate fears, obstacles, and the adverse effects of planetary afflictions (*Graha Dosha*). Astrologer Anand Bhardwaj from Ujjain states that individuals with *Kaal Sarp Dosha* in their horoscopes can significantly reduce its impact by performing specific remedies and prayers on Nag Panchami.

This year, the festival of Nag Panchami will be celebrated on Monday, August 17, 2026. According to the Vedic calendar, the *Panchami Tithi* of the Sawan *Shukla Paksha* begins at 4:52 PM on August 16 and concludes at 5:00 PM on August 17. Based on the *Udaya Tithi* (the sunrise date), celebrating Nag Panchami on August 17 is considered auspicious.
**Signs of Kaal Sarp Dosha**
Individuals affected by *Kaal Sarp Dosha* often experience frightening dreams and may frequently see snakes in their sleep. Such people often harbor an inexplicable fear. Despite hard work, they may fail to achieve the expected success and face obstacles in their endeavors. Situations involving stress and conflict may arise within the family and at the workplace. Additionally, there is a likelihood of increased activity from adversaries and enemies.
**Remedies for Relief from Kaal Sarp Dosha on Nag Panchami**
Nag Panchami is considered a particularly auspicious day for those with *Kaal Sarp Dosha* in their horoscopes. Worshipping Lord Shiva with proper rituals and chanting the *Mahamrityunjaya Mantra* on this day is highly beneficial. Performing *Abhishek* (ritual bathing) of the *Shivling* with water mixed with *Gangajal* (holy water from the Ganges) and black sesame seeds invokes the blessings of Mahadev. Furthermore, it is believed that offering a pair of serpent idols (male and female) made of silver or copper into a holy river helps alleviate the effects of *Kaal Sarp Dosha*.
