The Garuda Purana, one of the major texts of Hinduism, discusses the mysteries of life and death in detail. According to religious belief, Lord Vishnu revealed various profound secrets regarding life, karma, and death to Garuda Dev; these were later compiled into the Garuda Purana. This text describes not only the journey after death but also mentions certain signs said to appear before the final moments of a person's life. However, it is important to understand that these points are based on religious faith and traditional beliefs; they should not be viewed as scientific facts or prophecies.

1. Gradual weakening of the senses
The Garuda Purana mentions that as a person's life approaches its final stage, their senses may lose their usual sharpness. Religious belief suggests that changes may occur in the ability to see, hear, taste, or smell. However, from a medical perspective, such conditions can also result from various illnesses or the aging process. Therefore, one should not draw conclusions based solely on this factor.
2. Recurring inauspicious or strange dreams
Religious texts also mention specific types of dreams. It is believed that if a person begins to have frequent frightening, sorrowful, or unusual dreams, it could be a sign of a major life change. However, psychology suggests that such dreams can also stem from stress, anxiety, mental pressure, or poor sleep. Thus, it is appropriate to view these matters within a religious context.
3. Sudden detachment from worldly matters
The Garuda Purana states that as life nears its end, some individuals' minds gradually detach from worldly comforts and pleasures. They begin to spend more time in worship, meditation, remembrance of the Divine, or introspection. Religious belief interprets this as a sign of the soul moving towards its spiritual journey. However, such behavior can also result from an individual's personal thoughts, age, or life experiences.

4. Changes in facial appearance and behavior
According to certain religious beliefs, changes in the radiance of the face, expressions, or behavior of an individual may be observed as their final moments approach. It is said that they may appear calmer or more serious than before. However, such changes can also result from health issues, mental state, or the aging process; therefore, they should not be regarded as definitive signs.
