There is immense buzz among audiences regarding Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’. The trailer for this epic—starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey, and Yash—was released on July 30, further fueling the conversation. Since the trailer's release, questions have been raised regarding the casting of Sai Pallavi as Sita. Meanwhile, the Delhi Ramlila Mahasangh has warned the filmmakers that they will strongly oppose the project if anything objectionable is found in the film. The federation has also requested a special screening of the movie.

The Shri Ramlila Mahasangh issued a press release addressed to director Nitesh Tiwari, appealing for a special screening. Arjun Kumar, the federation's president, wrote an official letter to the producers demanding that a special screening be organized for a delegation from the Mahasangh before the film's theatrical release in India and abroad this Diwali.

In the letter addressed to director Nitesh Tiwari and the production company, Arjun Kumar referenced the controversy surrounding the previously released big-budget film ‘Adipurush’. He noted that after that film's release, the Sanatan community and those associated with traditional Ramlila had raised objections to several aspects of the movie.

According to the press note, key issues that sparked opposition included "depicting Lanka in black instead of gold" and "portraying Ravana and his army in a manner contrary to traditional beliefs." The Mahasangh stated that these controversies also impacted the film's box-office performance. In his letter, the federation's president expressed concern that Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ might also contain scenes capable of hurting Hindu sentiments.

**Threat of Protests Against the Film**

The Shri Ramlila Mahasangh president stated that if Nitesh Tiwari does not accede to this demand, the federation—in collaboration with various Hindu organizations—will stage protests and sit-ins outside cinema halls in Delhi and other states across the country.
