Ingredients for Paneer Cheese Balls:
Boiled potatoes - 2
Paneer (cottage cheese) - 1 cup
Mozzarella cheese - 1/2 cup
Green chilies - 1-2
Capsicum (bell pepper) - 2 spoons
Black pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Oregano and chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
Salt - to taste
Cornflour - 3 spoons
All-purpose flour (Maida) - 2 spoons
Breadcrumbs - 1 cup
Fresh coriander leaves - 2 spoons
Oil - for frying
Method for making Paneer Cheese Balls:
1
First, combine the mashed potatoes, grated paneer, finely chopped capsicum, and fresh coriander leaves in a mixing bowl.
2
Now, add the black pepper powder, oregano, chili flakes, and salt to taste. Also, add one spoon of cornflour to help with binding.
3
Mix everything and gather the mixture into a dough-like consistency.
4
Lightly grease your hands with oil and shape the mixture into small balls. Make a small indentation in the center of each ball with your finger, place some cheese inside, seal it from all sides, and reshape it into a ball.
5
Now, in a separate bowl, mix together all-purpose flour (maida), two spoons of cornflour, and a little water to prepare a thin batter. Dip each paneer-cheese ball into this batter, then place it on a plate of breadcrumbs and coat it thoroughly on all sides.
6
Next, heat oil in a pan over medium heat and add the cheese balls one by one. Keep the heat at a medium level and fry the balls, turning them occasionally, until they turn golden brown.
7
Once fried, remove them and place them on a sheet of tissue paper to drain off any excess oil.
8
Serve the piping hot paneer-cheese balls with tomato ketchup.
