We often get bored with eating the same boring parathas or poha for breakfast. In such a situation, we need something easy to make, attractive to look at, and full of health benefits. Beetroot Cheela is one such recipe. Due to its amazing taste, it is loved not only by adults but also by children.

Beetroot is rich in iron and vitamins and is very beneficial for health. Therefore, including it in breakfast is also beneficial for health. Let's learn an easy recipe for making tasty beetroot cheela at home.
Ingredients
Beetroot - 1 large (grated)
Gram flour - 1 cup (for binding)
Semolina - 2-3 tablespoons (for crunch)
Yogurt - 2 tablespoons
Green chilies - 1-2, finely chopped
Ginger - 1-inch piece
Spices - 1/2 teaspoon celery, red chili powder, a pinch of asafoetida, and salt to taste
Water
Oil or ghee - for frying the chillas
Coriander leaves - finely chopped
How to prepare the batter
First, wash and peel the beetroot. You can finely grate it or grind it in a mixer with a little water to make a paste. Now, take gram flour and semolina in a bowl. Add the beetroot paste, yogurt, ginger, green chilies, and coriander leaves.
Now, add salt, celery, asafoetida, and red chili powder. Add water little by little to make a medium-thick batter. Make sure the batter is neither too thin nor too thick. Cover the batter and let it rest for 10-15 minutes so the semolina swells and the cheelas become soft.
How to Make the Cheela
First, heat a non-stick pan and grease it with a little oil or ghee.
Now, pour a tablespoon of batter into the center of the pan and spread it in a circular motion. You can keep it thin or thick, depending on your preference.
Cook the cheela over medium heat until the edges begin to leave the pan.
Drizzle a little oil on the edges and carefully flip the cheela.
Cook until the other side is golden and crisp. Lightly pressing it down ensures it is thoroughly cooked.

How to Serve?
This hot pink beetroot cheela is as beautiful to look at as it is delicious to eat. You can serve it with mint chutney, sweet tamarind chutney, or fresh yogurt. If you're making it for kids, sprinkle some grated cheese on top, which will enhance both its nutritional value and flavor.
