Akshay Kumar's Film Changed Adivi Sesh's Perspective—Find Out Where He Found the Inspiration to Make 'Dacoit'..

Adivi Sesh is currently making headlines for his recently released film, *Dacoit*. In addition to playing the lead role, Adivi Sesh has also written the screenplay for this film. Recently, the actor revealed that a film starring Akshay Kumar completely transformed his perspective on storytelling in Hindi—particularly regarding his new film, *Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha*.

**Adivi Wanted a 'Cowboy Western' Backdrop**
During a conversation with *India Today*, Adivi Sesh discussed the film's setting and its placement along the Andhra-Karnataka border. The actor stated that this specific landscape was a deliberate creative choice. The film's dusty, sun-scorched terrain was chosen specifically to evoke the aesthetic of a South Indian "Cowboy Western."

Adivi Sesh explained that after watching Akshay Kumar’s *Pad Man* and learning about its real-life origins, he began to rethink how regional stories could be effectively presented to a wider audience. He noted, "We wanted something that would feel like the backdrop of a Cowboy Western film. We always knew that this would be a South Indian story, but one that would be told in Hindi."

**A Shift in Perspective Triggered by *Pad Man***
The actor further elaborated on how *Pad Man* influenced this decision: "I really loved Akshay Kumar’s *Pad Man*. When I read the true story behind it, I realized that it was actually a Tamil story. That got me thinking: why shouldn't we tell our own stories in Hindi, thereby reaching the audience directly ourselves?"

Instead of transplanting the narrative to a more traditional Hindi-speaking region, the filmmakers decided to retain the authentic South Indian backdrop while making the story accessible in Hindi. Rather than completely re-contextualizing the plot, the characters are portrayed as Hindi speakers within that specific setting—a natural, incidental detail of the story world.

This perspective adopted by the actor also reflects a broader shift within Indian cinema—an era where linguistic boundaries are becoming increasingly fluid, and stories are crossing regional borders with greater ease and fluidity than ever before. ‘Dakait’ Continues Its Run in Theaters
Directed by Shanil Deo, *Dakait: Ek Prem Katha* is currently running in theaters. However, up against *Dhurandhar 2*, the film is failing to make a significant impact in the Hindi market. Nevertheless, the Telugu version is still generating decent revenue. In addition to Adivi Sesh, the film features Mrunal Thakur and Anurag Kashyap in lead roles. Furthermore, Prakash Raj and Atul Kulkarni also appear in pivotal roles within the film.
