Akshay Kumar: When Akshay Kumar regretted not being able to buy the rights of Immortals Of Meluha..

Recent updates regarding *The Immortals of Meluha* created quite a stir online. Reports suggested that Ranveer would be playing the character of Lord Shiva in this trilogy.

**The Book Was Written by Amish Tripathi**
Rumors circulated that Ranveer Singh had acquired the rights to this mythological bestseller and would be playing the lead role in this big-budget film. However, author Amish Tripathi has now refuted these reports, clarifying that no such deal has been finalized yet.

Amidst the renewed discussions surrounding the book, an old video of Akshay Kumar has once again gone viral. In this video, the actor openly admits that he regrets not having purchased the rights to the novel.

During the launch event for Amish Tripathi's book *Scion of Ikshvaku*, Akshay Kumar revealed that when *The Immortals of Meluha* was first published, he had been advised to acquire its rights.

**Akshay Expressed His Regret**
Recalling that moment, Akshay Kumar said, "I still remember that when Amish's first book—the one about Lord Shiva—came out, I was advised to buy the rights and make a film based on it. I looked at the book's cover and wasn't sure if I would be able to pull off the role of Lord Shiva. But later, when Karan Johar narrated the story to me, I felt that I had truly missed out on something significant. So, the moral of the story is: it pays to read books."

Following the reports linking Ranveer Singh to the film, Amish Tripathi felt compelled to issue a clarification. In a statement, the author said, "The rights to the Shiva Trilogy remain with me, and no agreement has been reached with anyone yet. In my opinion, Ranveer is one of the finest Indian actors of our time. I am also a huge fan of his work. However, the news currently circulating is not true."

**The Book Has Been Written in Three Parts**
*The Immortals of Meluha* is a book written by Amish Tripathi, which was released as a three-part series. These include The Immortals of Meluhha, The Secret of the Nagas and The Oath of the Vayuputras.
