The month of Sawan has reached its final phase, with only a few days remaining in this holy month. However, the Ekadashi falling during these concluding days of Sawan is considered particularly significant this year. The Ekadashi of the *Shukla Paksha* (waxing phase of the moon) in the month of Sawan is known as Putrada Ekadashi. According to religious belief, observing a fast and worshipping Lord Vishnu on this day fulfills wishes related to progeny and ensures happiness and prosperity in the lives of one's children. Notably, since it falls during the month of Sawan, worshipping both Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu on this day holds special importance. Consequently, this year's Putrada Ekadashi is considered highly significant for devotees.

**What the Astrologer from Deoghar Says**
Pandit Nandkishore Mudgal, an astrologer from Deoghar, explained that the final Ekadashi of the Sawan month is known as Putrada Ekadashi. This year, the fast will be observed on August 30th. According to the astrologer, the fact that Putrada Ekadashi falls on a Sunday is considered a special coincidence. Religious belief holds that worshipping Lord Vishnu with devotion and in accordance with prescribed rituals on this day yields special blessings. At the same time, worshipping Lord Shiva holds its own unique significance due to the month being Sawan. For this reason, it is believed that worshipping both Shiva and Vishnu on this day brings special spiritual benefits to devotees.
**Couples Desiring Children Should Observe the Fast**
According to Pandit Nandkishore Mudgal, the Putrada Ekadashi fast is considered particularly important for couples who wish to have children. Couples desiring offspring can observe the fast with devotion and worship both Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva on this day. It is believed that this can fulfill the wishes of couples hoping for children and ensure the Lord's grace remains upon their progeny. However, religious beliefs should be viewed through the lens of faith. On this day, remembering Lord Shiva alongside Lord Vishnu, lighting lamps, performing rituals, and donating to the needy are also considered auspicious.
**Auspicious Timing for Worship and Breaking the Fast**
Astrologers state that the *Ekadashi Tithi* (lunar day) will commence at 2:00 AM on the night of August 23, 2026, and continue until 4:18 AM on August 24, 2026. The auspicious window for worshipping Lord Vishnu is from 7:32 AM to 12:24 PM on August 23. Meanwhile, the fast can be broken (*Paran*) between 1:41 PM and 4:16 PM on August 24, 2026. Devotees can plan their worship rituals and fasting arrangements keeping these timings in mind.

**Blessings from Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu**
There is great enthusiasm among devotees regarding this final *Ekadashi* of the *Sawan* month. While the period of worshipping Lord Shiva is currently underway during *Sawan*, the worship of Lord Vishnu holds special significance on *Putrada Ekadashi*. Consequently, religious devotion intensifies on this day due to the combined worship of both Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. If you intend to observe the fast on this day, perform your worship with deep reverence and place your heartfelt wishes before the deities.
