A special alignment occurs on Sarvapitri Amavasya; make sure to do these 3 things..

In Hinduism, the *Amavasya* (new moon day) holds special spiritual significance. On this day, a large number of devotees offer prayers seeking peace and blessings for their ancestors (*Pitrs*). It is believed that on *Ashwin Amavasya*, ancestors descend from heaven to earth to bless their families; hence, there is a tradition of performing rituals dedicated to them on this day. Measures to alleviate *Pitra Dosh* (ancestral affliction) are also undertaken on *Ashwin Amavasya*. According to Ujjain-based astrologer Anand Bhardwaj, the festival of *Sarvapitra Amavasya* will be observed on October 10. This particular *Amavasya* is considered special due to the formation of an auspicious celestial alignment. Let us explore which remedies would be beneficial.

*Sarvapitra Amavasya* is considered exceptionally significant this year. On this day, a rare combination of *Shanishchari Amavasya* (a new moon falling on a Saturday) and *Gajachhaya Yoga* will occur. According to astrology, this alignment has formed only 12 times in the last 81 years and is now occurring for the 13th time. It is believed that performing *Tarpan*, *Shraddha*, and *Pind Daan* for ancestors during such an auspicious alignment yields manifold spiritual merit.
**Actions that please the ancestors**
1. According to belief, feeding crows on *Sarvapitra Amavasya* pleases the ancestors and brings their abundant blessings. If one spots a crow on this day, it is essential to respectfully offer it food.

2. Visiting holy places and offering prayers on this day pleases the ancestors. Additionally, one should serve the cow (*Gau Mata*) after the worship rituals. This pleases both the deities and the ancestral spirits. Feeding fodder to a cow on this day is considered auspicious.

3. Three auspicious *Yogas* (celestial alignments) are forming on *Sarvapitra Amavasya*, a rare occurrence. Therefore, performing *Tarpan* and *Pind Daan* for ancestors on this day brings them joy. Charity (*Daan*) also holds great importance on this day; giving in charity earns spiritual merit and brings peace to the ancestors.

Avoid these actions at all costs.
According to astrology, one should strictly avoid cutting hair or nails on the day of Amavasya (the new moon). Doing so can displease your ancestors and potentially lead to *Pitra Dosh* (ancestral affliction). Additionally, washing one's hair on Amavasya is considered forbidden; it is believed that washing hair on this day can cause a person to face various kinds of troubles.
