Only a few days remain until the start of the new year. In 2025 (Year Ender 2025), many temples across the country witnessed a large number of devotees visiting to offer prayers. Some temples remained in the spotlight for various reasons, including the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the Jagannath Temple, and the Shri Sansthan Gokarna Jeevottam Math. But do you know why these temples were in the news? If not, let us tell you the special reasons.

Ram Mandir
Every day, a large number of devotees visit the Ram Mandir to have darshan of Lord Rama. The Ram Mandir was much talked about in 2025. The main reason for this was the flag hoisting ceremony at the Ram Mandir. For your information, on November 25th, on the auspicious occasion of Vivah Panchami, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the flag at the Ram Mandir. During this time, the Ram Mandir witnessed a very special atmosphere and enthusiasm among the devotees. Special prayers and rituals were performed at the Ram Mandir before the flag hoisting.
The date of November 25th was chosen for the Ram Mandir flag hoisting because it was the fifth day of the bright half of the Margashirsha month. On this date, Lord Rama and Mother Janaki were married, which is celebrated every year as Vivah Panchami.
Jagannath Rath Yatra
According to the Vedic calendar, the Jagannath Rath Yatra begins every year on the second day of the bright half of the Ashadha month. This chariot procession starts from the Jagannath Temple, and Lord Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra, and sister Subhadra travel in separate chariots to their aunt's house, the Gundicha Temple. Devotees from far and wide come to participate in this Rath Yatra.
This year, the Jagannath Rath Yatra started on June 27th. Lord Jagannath's Rath Yatra was very much in the news. This procession witnesses a very special atmosphere every year.
