It is reported that Akshay Kumar had even acquired the rights to the franchise; however, the situation only became more complicated thereafter. A copyright dispute erupted surrounding the film, leading to a legal battle between a South Indian producer and Firoz Nadiadwala.

Recently, during an appearance on Shubhankhar Mishra's podcast, Akshay Kumar addressed the film's release, stating, "As of now, *Hera Pheri 3* is not being made." Surprised by this revelation, Shubhankhar expressed his astonishment, to which Akshay replied, "I was shocked myself."

"It's alright. We went ahead and made *Welcome*. We might just have to recite a few mantras to ensure everything falls into place. It certainly won't happen within the next year. There are numerous hurdles involved. It’s not that the three of us aren't working together; we are all starring together in *Welcome to the Jungle*."

"There are certain things I cannot discuss on camera. There are many factors—specifically various agreements—that are causing this project to be delayed," he added. "It will happen eventually. When the time is right, it will get made. My only hope is that we don't grow too old by then!"

**Akshay Kumar Seen in 'Bhoot Bangla'**
Currently, Akshay Kumar can be seen in the film *Bhoot Bangla*. The movie was released in theaters on April 17th and was directed by Priyadarshan. The duo of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan has returned after nearly 16 years with *Bhoot Bangla*. The film is a horror-comedy. In addition to Akshay Kumar, the movie features Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Asrani, and Mithila Palkar in key roles.
