But, many of your important works can be done without giving an Aadhaar number. For this, you just have to create a virtual Aadhaar ID.

You will not have to pay any fee to create a virtual Aadhaar ID. Virtual ID is a 16-digit number. This virtual ID can be used for authentication and e-KYC in place of an Aadhaar number. Aadhaar number of any Aadhaar cardholder cannot be traced through virtual ID. This virtual ID can be used for many things including opening a bank account, applying for government services, completing the e-KYC process, downloading an Aadhaar PVC card or e-Aadhaar, applying for a passport, and buying an insurance policy.

How to create a virtual ID

First of all, go to the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India.

Select the language as per your convenience in Hindi or English.

Now click on the Virtual ID (VID) Generator in Aadhaar Services at the bottom of the website.

Now enter the Aadhaar card number and captcha.

Now enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number.

Now you will see your virtual ID on the screen.

This virtual ID is also sent to the registered mobile number.

Through SMS

Apart from the official website, you can also get a virtual ID by sending an SMS from your phone. For this, you have to type the last 4 digits of the Aadhaar number along with RVID from your registered mobile number and send it to 1947. For example, if the last 4 digits of the Aadhaar card are 4565, then the text of the message should be RVID 4565.
