On Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh witnessed good rainfall, particularly in the eastern region and some southern districts. The Meteorological Department states that monsoon activity in the state is expected to continue until August 27. A 'Yellow Alert' for heavy rain has been issued for Wednesday, covering a total of 29 districts, including the Terai and Bundelkhand regions.

Azamgarh recorded the highest rainfall on Tuesday at 120 mm. Other significant rainfall figures included 128 mm in Varanasi, 120 mm in Sonbhadra, 117 mm in Basti, 114.4 mm in Ambedkar Nagar, and 107 mm in Sultanpur. Atul Kumar Singh, a senior scientist at the Regional Meteorological Centre, stated that moderate to heavy rain is likely to continue in the eastern and southern districts of UP for the next two days. Following this, there are indications that the monsoon will gradually weaken for a few days.

Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Raebareli, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur, and surrounding areas.

**Pleasant weather due to light rain; temperature drops by 3.5 degrees**
The capital experienced light rain accompanied by cloudy skies for the third consecutive day on Tuesday. After some light drizzle in the morning, the sun came out briefly, but cloud cover intensified again, leading to light rain in various parts of the city—including Mahanagar and Gomti Nagar—in the afternoon.

Atul Kumar Singh, a senior scientist at the Regional Meteorological Centre, noted that cloudy conditions would persist on Wednesday, with a likelihood of rain in Lucknow. From Thursday onwards, rainfall is expected to subside, and temperatures will likely rise.

The weather remained pleasant throughout the day due to the rainfall. The maximum temperature dropped by 3.5°C to settle at 30.4°C, which was 3.3°C below normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 27.4°C, marking a rise of 1°C.
