Tortoise Ring: A tortoise ring is worn to attract wealth; learn the rules for wearing it..

Rules for wearing a tortoise ring: The tortoise holds religious significance in Hinduism because Lord Vishnu assumed the *Kachhap* (tortoise) avatar to provide a firm base for the *Samudra Manthan* (Churning of the Ocean), thereby lending stability to Mount Mandarachal. Mount Mandarachal served as the churning rod, while the serpent king Vasuki acted as the rope. People wear tortoise rings to attain stability, patience, wealth, happiness, and prosperity in life. Astrological belief holds that wearing it attracts wealth. There are specific rules for wearing a tortoise ring that must be followed to derive its benefits.

Rules for wearing the tortoise ring:
Individuals experiencing turmoil in life, poor financial conditions, a lack of stability, or a wandering mind should wear a tortoise ring.
Tortoise rings are typically made of silver. Alternatively, one can have them made from *Panch-dhatu* (an alloy of five metals) or *Ashta-dhatu* (an alloy of eight metals) based on planetary alignments in one's horoscope.

The tortoise ring should be worn on the index finger or the middle finger of the right hand. The index finger is associated with Jupiter (*Brihaspati*), the preceptor of the gods, while the middle finger is linked to the planet Saturn (*Shani*). Saturn governs action and karma, whereas Jupiter symbolizes wisdom.

Whenever you wear the tortoise ring, the tortoise's face should be directed towards you. When it faces you, it invites wealth, happiness, prosperity, progress, and auspiciousness into your life. If it faces the opposite direction, these positive attributes may diminish.

Wearing a silver tortoise ring helps alleviate afflictions associated with the Moon and Venus. Enhancing their auspicious influence brings happiness and peace to life and fosters a blissful marital relationship.

Wearing the tortoise ring on a Friday is considered highly auspicious; Monday is also a suitable day. However, a Friday coinciding with *Purnima* (the full moon day) is the most auspicious time.

Do not wear the tortoise ring immediately after acquiring it. First, purify it by washing it thoroughly with *Gangajal* (holy water from the Ganges). Then, place it at the holy feet of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu. Afterward, perform the ritual worship and light incense and a lamp. Chant the mantras "Om Shreem Mahalakshmyai Namah" and "Om Vishnave Namah." Finally, wear the ring.

Maintain cleanliness regularly after wearing this ring; ensure it does not get dirty.

Protect it from becoming impure, or else it will lose its efficacy and fail to yield any auspicious results.

Once you have put on the ring, do not keep rotating it. If the turtle's orientation accidentally shifts to face away from you, it could lead to inauspicious effects.

Those wearing the ring should abstain from consuming meat, alcohol, or other *tamasic* (impure/heavy) substances. Refrain from improper conduct and behavior.

If, for any reason, you need to remove the ring, place it at the holy feet of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu.
