Toll Tax Hike: Travelling from Delhi to Punjab, Haryana and Himachal will be expensive..

From April 1, toll tax will increase at 24 toll plazas located on highways and expressways in Haryana. This will increase the expenses of drivers going from Delhi to Haryana, Punjab, Himachal, and Jammu and Kashmir. The toll rate has been increased from Rs 5 to Rs 40. This increase will depend on the vehicle you are driving. The toll plazas where the toll rate has increased include Kherki Daula toll plaza in Gurugram, Gadpuri toll plaza between Faridabad-Palwal, Khatkar toll plaza in Jind on Delhi-Patiala National Highway, Gharaunda toll plaza in Karnal, Badli and Mandothi toll on KMP Expressway and Langhri toll plaza in Hisar.

The rates are increased every year by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). To ensure that drivers do not have any confusion about the new rates, the new rate list has been put up at the toll booths. The common man is angry due to the increase in toll rates. Drivers say that the huge increase in toll rates every year is increasing the burden on their pockets.

Where and how much has the rate increased

There has been an increase of 5 to 40 rupees at Karnal's Gharaunda toll plaza. Now the one-way toll for cars, jeeps, and vans will be 195 rupees, while the toll for the round-trip will be 290 rupees. 6425 rupees will have to be paid for the monthly pass. The increase in rates at the Gharaunda toll will affect vehicles going from Delhi to Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Jammu, and Kashmir.

The toll rate at Gadpuri toll plaza situated between Faridabad-Palwal has been increased by 5 to 20 rupees. Currently, a one-way toll of 120 rupees is charged from a car. From April 1, it has been increased by 5 rupees to 125 rupees. At the same time, 185 rupees will have to be paid for both instead of 180 rupees. Commercial vehicles will be charged 195 rupees instead of 190 for one way and 290 rupees instead of 280 for both ways.

5 rupees more will have to be paid at Kherki Daula toll in Gurugram. Here, private cars, jeeps, and vans will have to pay 85 rupees, light motor vehicles and minibusses will have to pay 125 rupees and buses and trucks (2XL) will have to pay 255 rupees. Monthly passes will be made for commercial cars, jeeps, and vans for 1255 rupees, light motor vehicles and mini buses for 1850 rupees, and buses and trucks (2XL) for 3770 rupees. There will be a 5% increase in the rates at the toll made at Sirohi Bahali Nangal Chaudhary on Highway number 148 B in Mahendragarh and at the toll at Jat Guwana in Narnaul on Highway number 152D.

Travel on the Delhi-Patiala highway has become expensive.

The toll has been increased from 5 to 25 rupees at the Khatkar toll plaza in Jind on the Delhi-Patiala National Highway. Till now, the toll for cars, jeeps, and vans is 120 rupees for one side and 180 rupees for both sides at Khatkar toll. From April 1, the toll for cars, jeeps, and vans will be 125 rupees for one side and 185 rupees for both sides. The toll for light commercial vehicles will increase from 290 to 300 rupees for both sides. The toll for one side of the bus and truck will increase from 405 rupees to 420 rupees. There are a total of 5 tolls in Jhajjar district, out of which 2 are in Badli and Mandothi on KMP Expressway. Now you will have to pay more toll even if you pass through here.

There are 4 toll plazas of NHAI in Hisar, which include Ramayan, Landhdi, Badopatti, and Chaudhariwas toll. Tolls in the Hisar district may also become costlier by 5 percent from April 1. At present, car drivers are charged Rs 95 at Landhdi toll in Hisar, but from April 1, Rs 100 will be charged.
