Indian T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav is ready for the five-match T20 series against England. On the eve of the first match, the star batsman addressed the media and talked about not being selected for the Champions Trophy. He said that he has no regrets about this. Let us tell you that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced Team India for this tournament starting from February 19. In this, Rohit Sharma has been made the captain and Shubman Gill has been made the vice-captain.

When Surya was questioned about not being selected for the Champions Trophy, he said that he is not disappointed. The Indian T20 captain said - 'Why would anyone be disappointed? If I do well (in ODIs) then I will get a place in the team. If I do not do well, this will not happen. There is no harm in accepting it.'
'I am disappointed with my performance in ODIs'
The right-handed batsman is disappointed that he could not perform well in the ODI format, due to which he was not selected for the upcoming tournament. Suryakumar has scored only 773 runs in 37 ODIs. Suryakumar said, 'I regret that I did not perform well in this format. If I had done well, I would have been in that team. The player who has performed well deserves a place.'
Bumrah and Shami will become a problem for other teams
Surya believes that if Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami remain fit, they will prove to be a dangerous combination for the Champions Trophy. He further said- 'They have played a lot of cricket together. They are experienced bowlers. Whenever you play for India, it is a different kind of feeling. There is also a feeling of responsibility in it and you like to play for the country. It will be good to see both of them bowling together as we saw in the ODI World Cup.'
