Sharadiya Navratri is considered extremely sacred and auspicious for the worship of Goddess Durga. During these nine days, devotees worship the nine forms of Goddess Durga and observe fasts while praying to the Mother Goddess for happiness, prosperity, and well-being. According to religious beliefs, worship and spiritual practice undertaken with a sincere heart during Navratri hold special significance. It is believed that performing certain specific religious rituals during this period can help alleviate life's troubles and fulfill one's wishes. In the year 2026, Sharadiya Navratri begins on October 11. Devotees will remain immersed in the worship of Goddess Durga for nine days, starting with the *Kalash Sthapana* (installation of the sacred pot). Pandit Sitaram Das from Ayodhya explains that performing certain rituals with faith and adherence to prescribed methods during Navratri is considered auspicious. Let us learn about three such remedies that are considered highly effective.

**Prepare a Small Bundle (*Potli*)**
Pandit Sitaram Das explains that the betel nut (*supari*) holds distinct importance in religious rituals; it is used in everything from worship ceremonies to various auspicious events. A specific remedy involving the betel nut is also popular during Navratri. Take a betel nut and apply vermilion (*sindoor*) thoroughly over it. Then, place the betel nut in a clean yellow cloth and tie it into a small bundle (*potli*). While worshipping Goddess Durga during Navratri, offer this bundle at the Goddess's feet and pray for the removal of obstacles hindering marriage. Religious belief holds that doing so brings relief from marriage-related difficulties. Some traditions suggest preserving this betel nut even after marriage, as it fosters love and harmony in marital life.
**A Symbol of Courage**
Pandit Sitaram Das notes that offering red flowers during the worship of Goddess Durga in Navratri is considered auspicious. Hibiscus flowers, in particular, hold a significant place in the worship of the Goddess. The color red is regarded as a symbol of power, energy, and courage. During Navratri, offer red flowers to Goddess Durga and worship her with wholehearted devotion. Additionally, pray for the appeasement of the Navagrahas (nine celestial bodies) and for happiness and prosperity in your life. It is believed that offering flowers to the Goddess with reverence brings mental peace to devotees and fosters positivity in life.
**Make a Garland of Cloves**
Pandit Sitaram Das states that the use of cloves is considered auspicious in Navratri worship. According to religious beliefs, cloves are associated with the worship of the Goddess. A traditional remedy involving cloves is recommended for those whose long-standing wishes remain unfulfilled. For this remedy, take a number of whole cloves equal to your age and string them together to form a garland. Then, offer this garland to Goddess Durga while worshipping her during Navratri. During the worship, place your wish before the Goddess and pray for its fulfillment. Once the wish is granted, dispose of the offered clove garland by immersing it in a water body or burying it in the soil, in accordance with tradition.
