Date and Time of the Rare Total Solar Eclipse 2026: The auspicious month of Sawan, dear to Lord Shiva, is currently underway. The final solar eclipse of the year is set to occur on the day of Sawan Amavasya (new moon). This will be a rare total solar eclipse, where the Moon will completely obscure the Sun. The eclipse will take place in the Cancer zodiac sign—ruled by the Moon—with the Sun, Mercury, the Moon, and Jupiter all present in Cancer at the time, creating a *Chaturgrahi Yoga* (a rare four-planet conjunction). Four zodiac signs will face negative effects from this eclipse and need to exercise caution.

**Date of the Final Solar Eclipse 2026**
According to the Vedic calendar, the Sawan Amavasya *tithi* (lunar day) spans from 1:52 AM on August 12 to 11:06 PM on August 12. Since Sawan Amavasya falls on August 12, the year's final solar eclipse will also occur on that day. Sawan Amavasya is also known as Hariyali Amavasya.
Astrologically, a solar eclipse always occurs on the new moon day (*Amavasya*), whereas a lunar eclipse occurs on the full moon day (*Purnima*). This year, the final lunar eclipse will also take place on Sawan Purnima. The festival of Raksha Bandhan is celebrated on Sawan Purnima.
**Time of the Final Solar Eclipse 2026**
The year's final solar eclipse will begin at 9:04 PM on August 12. It will conclude (*Moksha*) at 4:25 AM on August 13.
**When Does the Sutak Period Begin?**
According to astrological calculations, the *Sutak* period (an inauspicious time preceding the eclipse) begins 12 hours before the eclipse starts. Based on this, the *Sutak* period should commence at 9:04 AM; however, since this solar eclipse will not be visible in India, the *Sutak* period will not be applicable or observed in the country.
**Adverse Effects of the Solar Eclipse on 4 Zodiac Signs**
Just because the solar eclipse is not visible in India and the *Sutak* period is not applicable does not mean the eclipse will have no impact on you. Individuals belonging to four specific zodiac signs need to be cautious regarding this eclipse. Individuals belonging to the Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn zodiac signs are likely to face the adverse effects of the solar eclipse. These individuals should remain vigilant from August 12th to January 12th. They need to be cautious regarding their health, career, reputation, and financial assets. Issues such as financial loss, property disputes, illness, loss of reputation, and stress may trouble them.
Remedies to Mitigate the Adverse Effects of the Solar Eclipse
People belonging to these four zodiac signs should worship Lord Shiva for a period of six months, starting from August 12th. Perform *Jalabhishek* (ritual offering of water) to Lord Shiva every Monday. By the grace of Lord Shiva, all planetary afflictions, *doshas* (astrological flaws), and crises will be dispelled.
