The month of Sawan is extremely dear to Lord Shiva, and worshipping Him during this holy month holds special significance. Pandit Sanjay Upadhyay, an astrologer from Kashi, explained that while there are various types of Shivlings, those made of stone or *Sphatik* (quartz crystal) require a formal consecration ritual (*Pran Pratishtha*). In contrast, the installation and worship of the Narmadeshwar Shivling are quite simple.

He explained that the Narmadeshwar Shivling—found in the Narmada River—does not require formal consecration. It can be easily placed in the home for worship and *Jalabhishek* (ritual bathing with water). Therefore, installing a Narmadeshwar Shivling for home worship is in accordance with the scriptures. You can install this Shivling in your home's prayer area; it is also easily available in the market. You can install it in your home today, during the holy month of Sawan.

**How ​​to Perform the Worship**
Pandit Sanjay Upadhyay advised that every day, after bathing, one should perform *Abhishek* on the Narmadeshwar Shivling using Ganga water or water from any other holy river. On special occasions, you may also perform *Abhishek* using milk, sugarcane juice, coconut water, and curd. After the *Abhishek*, offerings such as *Belpatra* (wood apple leaves), fragrant flowers, and *Dhatura* should be made. Additionally, sacred ash (*Bhasma*) and sandalwood paste (*Chandan*) can be offered. Finally, the deity should be worshipped using incense (*Dhoop* and *Agarbatti*) and a lamp (*Deepak*). Remember, this routine should be followed regularly; doing so allows you to receive Lord Shiva's blessings throughout the year.
