Retinol Shots: Prepare retinol shots at home using 5 ingredients for glowing, smooth skin—here’s how..

Nowadays, people use various skincare products to keep their skin glowing, soft, and youthful. Retinol is a popular ingredient among them. But did you know you can make a "retinol shot" at home using carrots, oranges, lemons, ginger, and black pepper? Although it isn't actual retinol, it is a nutrient-rich natural drink.

Carrots contain beta-carotene, which the body can convert into Vitamin A. Meanwhile, oranges and lemons are excellent sources of Vitamin C. Vitamin C aids in the body's collagen production process. Ginger adds freshness and a mild, spicy kick to the drink. Let’s learn how to make it at home.

Ingredients for the Retinol Shot
1 medium-sized carrot
1 orange
Half a lemon
A small piece of ginger
A pinch of black pepper
A little water (as needed)

How to Make the Retinol Shot
Step 1: First, wash and peel the carrot thoroughly. Then, cut it into small pieces so it blends easily in the mixer.

Step 2: Peel the orange and remove the seeds. Squeeze the juice from half a lemon and set it aside.

Step 3: Peel the ginger and cut it into small pieces. If you prefer a milder taste, you can use a smaller amount.

Step 4: Place the carrot, orange pieces, and ginger into the mixer. Add a little water as needed and blend well. Then, add the lemon juice and a pinch of black pepper, and blend again.

Step 5: Pour the prepared drink into a small glass and consume it fresh. You can strain it if you wish, but drinking it unstrained allows you to get more of the pulp and fiber.

How is it beneficial for the skin?

The beta-carotene found in carrots helps the body produce Vitamin A. Oranges and lemons provide Vitamin C, which plays a role in collagen formation. Ginger and black pepper enhance the taste and give this drink a unique flavor. Keep in mind that this drink is not a substitute for a skincare routine; a balanced diet, adequate sleep, hydration, and the use of sunscreen are also essential for maintaining healthy skin.
