Can kids eat pomegranates daily? Parents worry most about their children's health during the winter. Children fall sick more often during this season, so parents wonder what to feed their children and what to avoid to prevent illness. One of these foods is pomegranate. Parents wonder whether pomegranate should be given to their children during the winter season, or if it could worsen colds and flu. Parenting coach Archana Malik shared a video on her Instagram handle on this topic. Let's find out what the experts say:
Should children be fed pomegranates or not?
Archana Malik says that due to the low temperatures in winter, blood circulation in the body slows down. Therefore, the body needs fruits and foods that provide internal strength and strengthen the immune system. Pomegranate is considered one such superfood. It is rich in iron, fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants. In such a situation, eating pomegranate can boost children's immunity and protect them from minor illnesses caused by changing weather.
Many parents think that pomegranate is cold and therefore can aggravate colds and coughs, but this is not true. The antioxidants and nutrients present in pomegranate increase the body's ability to fight infections. This actually reduces the child's chances of catching a cold and cough. It does not harm the throat, but rather makes the body healthy from within.
Eating pomegranates also improves children's appetite. It strengthens the digestive system, relieves constipation, and helps increase blood circulation. It is especially beneficial for young children. Therefore, you can safely give a pomegranate to your child even in winter.
Keep this in mind:
However, pomegranates should always be given with caution to young children. If the child is over 6 months old, a small amount of pomegranate juice can be given. Make sure the juice is always fresh and not too diluted. Older children who can chew easily can be fed pomegranate seeds. However, avoid giving the seeds to younger children, as they risk choking.

This way, you can give a pomegranate to your child even during the winter season. Pomegranate nourishes your child's body, boosts immunity, and helps protect them from seasonal infections. It's important to give it in the right way, according to their age.
