Dr. Raina Brar says that the child should not be woken up from sleep to feed every 3-4 hours. You can let the child sleep for as long as he wants to sleep. Let the child sleep for 6 to 8 hours, even if he wants to sleep.
When should the child be fed by waking him up?
The doctor said that there are 2 situations when you can feed the child by waking him up from sleep. First, if the child is less than 15 days old, then you will have to feed the child at short intervals. Second, if the child is not gaining weight or has any health problems, then the child will need specific advice from the doctor. Apart from these two situations, the child should not be woken up from sleep to feed him, he should be allowed to sleep.
