How to Increase a Child's Appetite: Feeding children properly is a major headache for parents, as children don't eat everything; they prefer only certain foods. Furthermore, they tend to overeat, such as snacks and chips, which can lead to overeating. If your child isn't eating properly, there could be several reasons. Whether children eat properly depends on their age, mental state, and environment. Let's tell you what parents can do to help their children eat. By making small changes and following some tips, you can increase their interest in food.

Plate food according to color.
Children won't eat food that looks boring. To make it appealing, arrange food according to color or cut it into different shapes. Serve dosa in smiley shapes. Cut sandwiches into cartoon shapes, or serve fruit salad in colorful bowls. This will increase their interest in food.
Don't Force Feed
Many parents try to force their children to eat if they don't eat. But this backfires. Children lose interest in food. So, instead of ordering them to eat, say, "Come, let's eat together." Sit down and eat with them. If you eat happily, they will start eating too.
Involve them in the cooking process.
To get children interested in food, you need to involve them in the cooking process. Let them do small tasks like washing vegetables, putting away utensils, or arranging plates. If they feel they prepared the food themselves, they will definitely eat. This is a great way to teach them not only about eating but also about responsibility.

Feed small portions frequently.
Children have very small stomachs. If you put too much food on a large plate, they won't eat it. So, give them small portions, 5-6 times a day. Also, whenever you introduce a new food, mix it with old favorites. This way, they will eat it happily.
