Shweta Tripathi has started shooting for "Mirzapur: The Film," an adaptation of the web series "Mirzapur." She returns as Gajagamini "Golu" Gupta in her popular role. The film is scheduled for release in 2026.

Where did the shooting begin?
According to PTI, Shweta has begun shooting for "Mirzapur: The Film" in Varanasi. Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Divyendu Sharma are also returning to their roles. Regarding "Mirzapur: The Film," Shweta said, "Golu is not just a character for me, but a companion in my life for years. Watching his journey on the big screen feels amazing and like a dream."
Shweta's special connection to Varanasi
Shweta considers Varanasi her "second home." She explained that many of her career projects have been connected to the city, such as Neeraj Ghaywan's film "Masaan," the show "Escape Live," and "Kaalakoot." Shweta said, "This city always calls to me." The people, the food, and the love I've received keep me coming back.' Her trainer, Tridev Pandey, is also from Varanasi.

'Mirzapur: The Film' is a cinematic adaptation of the 'Mirzapur' series, focusing more on popular characters like Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu Pandit, and Munna Tripathi. Fans are excited about 'Mirzapur: The Film'. Abhishek Banerjee, who played the compounder in the series, is also returning to the film.
