Dispute between Brahma-Vishnu: Once a dispute broke out between Brahma and Vishnu as to who is superior among the two. Brahma was claiming to be superior as the creator of the universe and Lord Vishnu was calling himself superior as the protector of the entire universe. Then a huge luminous linga appeared there. Both the gods decided unanimously that whoever finds the end of this linga first will be considered superior. Hence both set out to find the end of the Shivling in opposite directions. Vishnuji returned as he could not find the end. Brahmaji also did not succeed, but he came and told Vishnuji that he had reached the end. He called Ketaki Flower as a witness to this. Ketaki flower also supported Brahmaji in this lie. When Brahmaji lied, Lord Shiva himself appeared there and criticized Brahmaji.

Mahadev said this flower will not be offered in my worship: Both the gods praised Mahadev, and then Shiva said I am the reason, creator, and master of the universe. I have created both of you. Shiva punished the Ketaki flower for giving false evidence and said that this flower would not be used in my worship. That is why the Ketaki flower is never offered in the worship of Shiva.

What does Mahadev like: Lord Bholenath does not like any particular thing during worship. But still, if milk, cannabis, datura, ankde flower or aparajita flower is offered to him by his devotees, then he likes it very much. Along with this, rose flowers can also be offered to Bholenath. Goddess Parvati resides in the rose flower.
