Gujarat Titans have got relief news ahead of their next match in IPL 2025. Its experienced fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has been cleared to play. Rabada was temporarily banned for consuming banned drugs, but after completing the drug abuse treatment program, Rabada has now been cleared to be available for Gujarat Titans.

Rabada returned home a few days ago citing personal reasons. The fast bowler played the first two matches for Gujarat in the current season. Against Punjab Kings, he took just one wicket for 41 runs. After this, against Mumbai, he spent 42 runs and took just one wicket. It was later learned that he had been suspended from all formats of cricket.

According to a statement from the South Africa Drug-Free Sports Institute, Rabada can now take the field. Rabada has joined the Gujarat team after completing the suspension. Gujarat will face Mumbai Indians on Tuesday. Rabada was found positive in a dope test during SA20 in January. The release said, Rabada was found guilty of consuming a banned substance and he was informed about it on April 1, 2025. He was temporarily suspended and he immediately returned to South Africa from India. The player was offered to complete a drug abuse treatment program as per the South African Anti-Doping Rules. Rabada completed two sessions of the treatment program satisfactorily, which lifted the suspension imposed on him. He has served a month's suspension and can now return to the game.

Cocaine, heroin, MDMA, and marijuana are among the substances for which Rabada was suspended. The maximum ban for this is four years, but if the player proves that it was done outside the competition and not to improve performance, then the ban can be reduced to three months. If he agrees to participate in the treatment program, it can be reduced to one month.
