The biographical drama film 'Ikkis', directed by Sriram Raghavan, is all set to release on January 1st. The film was initially scheduled for a December 25th release but was later postponed. This film marks the last film of veteran actor Dharmendra, while Amitabh Bachchan's grandson, Agastya Nanda, is making his big-screen debut with this movie.
Amidst the buzz surrounding the film's release, the Indian Express has reported that the producers have given a special thanks to Bobby Deol in the film's credits.
Bobby Deol Dubbed the Dialogues
Dharmendra passed away on November 24th at the age of 89. In the film, he plays the role of ML Khetarpal, the father of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, one of India's youngest warriors to be awarded the Param Vir Chakra. For this special project, Bobby Deol has dubbed some of the dialogues for the younger version of ML Khetarpal.
This creative decision will add a new dimension to the film, as Bobby's voice will further enhance the portrayal of the character's younger days, making the transition more impactful.
Also Played Young Dharmendra's Role
It's worth noting that this isn't the first time Bobby Deol has lent his voice to one of Dharmendra's characters. Bobby made his debut with Rajkumar Santoshi's Barsaat, which was released in 1995. The film was produced under Santoshi's late father's banner, Vijayta Films. However, very few of his fans know that Bobby took his first steps in the film industry in 1977. At that time, Bobby was eight years old and appeared as the younger version of Dharam Singh, played by Dharmendra, in Manmohan Desai's film Dharam Veer. He was known as 'Master Bobby' at the time. Now, 50 years later, Bobby Deol has contributed, albeit in a small way, to Dharmendra's last film.
