Actress Huma Qureshi is returning with the fourth season of her popular web series "Maharani." In this political drama, Huma will return as Rani Bharti. In an exclusive interview with Amar Ujala, Huma Qureshi shared her experiences preparing for the role and shooting. She also revealed what kind of character she would like to play next, and what changes she would bring to the country if she were a real Maharani.

Do you remember the first day of shooting? Did you ever imagine that this journey of "Maharani" would reach a fourth season?
I remember it very well. My first scene was very simple. I was sitting on the floor and chopping vegetables. That day, not just me, but the entire team was a little worried. Everyone was thinking about how to present Rani Bharti so that people could connect with her. Looking back now, I can't believe we've reached season four. It's truly a dream come true for me.
What new story or characters will we see this time?
This time, the story moves forward nearly twenty years. The characters have changed, and some new faces have joined. You could call it a rebirth for Maharani. The show has been made deeper and more exciting. This season is special for me because Rani Bharti got a chance to live in a new era. I'm confident that audiences will consider this the best season yet.
What part of Rani Bharti's journey reflects you in yourself?
Marani's greatest quality is that she isn't afraid to speak the truth. If she believes she's right, she stands up to anyone. I've learned this from her. I may not have been so fearless before, but while playing Rani, I realized that if you're not wrong, there's no reason to be afraid. Rani's honesty and habit of standing up for the truth have rubbed off on me. Now, I express my views more openly, whether it's work or life.
Was there any scene in this season that was most challenging or memorable?
Many scenes in this season are close to my heart, but the scene with Kala Naag (Gauri Shankar Pandey) stood out. It was incredibly intense, with minimal dialogue. Everything had to be conveyed through emotion and expression. The depth of the relationship between Rani and Kala Naag was evident in the silence of that scene, and that was its greatest strength.
Was it more difficult to grasp the dialect or maintain it?
To be honest, I'm still a little intimidated by Hindi. I studied in English medium, so sometimes I get confused while counting. (Laughs) But now I'm better than before. If I get a little more time, I'd like to work on it further. I just need the opportunity, and when I do, I'll sit down and learn with all my heart.
Will the story end with 'Maharani 4'?
I can confidently say that the story isn't over yet. After every season, people think everything is over, but something new always emerges in the world of Maharani. As they say in movies, "The picture is still left, my friend."
How do you feel when you look back on your career?
I can never be satisfied. Yes, I'm happy that I'm doing good and interesting work, but there's still so much more to do. I feel this is just the beginning. There are many dreams to fulfill and new stories to tell. I still consider myself a student. I'm proud to be one of India's top actresses, and that brings joy to me, my family, and my team.
What was that moment in my career that changed everything?
Maharani gave a new turn to both my life and career. The character of Rani Bharti endeared me to people and gave me a strong identity. After the show's success, I started getting projects where I could carry the story on my shoulders. Personally, my decision to move from Delhi to Mumbai was the biggest turning point in my career.
Has the industry's perception of you changed now?
When you become successful, people start looking at you differently. You remain the same person, but the world's attitude changes. I've clearly felt this. But I view it positively. I take both my successes and failures with balance. I don't celebrate too much or regret too much. I just work honestly and keep moving forward.
Any genre or role you'd like to do?
I'm surprised no one has cast me in comedy before. I have excellent comic timing. I also love romantic comedies. I enjoy watching "Bridesmaids" and old Julia Roberts films. Speaking of Hindi films, "Hera Pheri" is my all-time favorite. I like comedies that have heart, laughter, and a touch of mischief.

Which director do you want to work with?
I absolutely love Christopher Nolan's films. He makes science-based films. His films touch the heart. It's not easy to make a technical film with so much depth and emotion. If I ever get the chance to work with him, it would be an honor for me.
There have been rumors of your engagement for some time now. How much truth is there in it?
(Laughs) All I can say about this is that when the time is right, I will make the announcement myself.
