When Karan Johar announced the sequel to the 2008 film "Dostana," starring Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan, and John Abraham, fans were quite excited. The film was announced in 2021 by Karan Johar, starring Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Badass Bollywood actor Lakshya Lalwani.

However, reports of Kartik Aaryan's disagreement with Dharma Productions later surfaced. The makers themselves later shared official information stating that Kartik Aaryan was no longer a part of their film "Dostana 2." After much controversy and back-and-forth, "Dostana 2" finally found a new actor.
This actor replaced Kartik Aaryan.
For some time, there were reports that Vikrant Massey would replace Kartik Aaryan in "Dostana 2." Now, the actor, who recently won his first National Film Award for "12th Fail," has confirmed that he will replace Kartik Aaryan in "Dostana 2."
In an exclusive interview with Times Now, Vikrant Massey said, "You'll see me doing that film soon. I think the news has already come out. I don't know why I haven't talked about it. I'm doing Dostana 2, my first film with Dharma Productions."
Vikrant Massey will be seen in designer clothes and fancy glasses.
Vikrant Massey further added, "In Dostana 2, you'll see me wearing a lot of designer clothes. Karan Johar himself will ensure that I wear nice clothes and fancy glasses. The film will be shot in Europe."
When asked about the female lead and Lakshya Lalwani's character in Dostana 2, Vikrant Massey replied, "I won't talk about the female lead. It's better if Karan sir says it. There's a big announcement for that, too."

Confirming whether Bads of Bollywood actor Lakshya Lalwani is a part of the film, Vikrant Massey said, "Lakshya is still a part of the film, but let's keep the girl's name a surprise." When Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar patched up again during an event in Melbourne, it seemed that the actors would once again be in Dostana 2.
