Recently, actor-director Satyajit Puri shared an interesting anecdote about Dharmendra. He recalled the veteran actor's sharp response when the underworld allegedly tried to threaten him.

Dharmendra Was Not Afraid of the Underworld
Puri, in an interview with Friday Talkies, recounted how the former action star Dharmendra challenged gangsters to beware of his "army from Punjab." He said, "The underworld was very strong back then. That was a time when the underworld would call an actor, and they would be scared. However, Dharmendra and his family were never afraid of them. He would tell them, 'If you come, the entire Sahnewal will come from Punjab. You have 10 people, but I have an entire army.'" I'll say one word, and trucks full of people will come to fight against Punjab. So don't mess with me. And he never messed with Dharmendra."

The 89-year-old actor was last seen in director Amit Joshi's film "Teri Baatein Mein Aisa Ulza Jiya," starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. This romantic comedy also starred Dimple Kapadia, Rakesh Bedi, and Rajesh Kumari.
Dharmendra is working on the upcoming film "Ekkis" (2025). Actor Agastya Nanda plays the lead role in this film.
