Champions Trophy: Rohit Sharma completes 11000 runs in ODIs, second batsman to do so in the least number of innings..

Indian captain Rohit Sharma has registered a special achievement in the Champions Trophy match against Bangladesh. Rohit has completed 11000 runs in ODIs. He is the second batsman in the world to do so in the least number of innings. Rohit left behind former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar in this matter. Rohit took 261 innings to complete 11000 runs, while Sachin achieved this feat during the 276th ODI innings.

Fourth Indian to score 11000 runs
India's star batsman Virat Kohli holds the record of completing 11000 runs in ODIs at the fastest pace. Kohli achieved this feat in 222 ODI innings. Ricky Ponting is fourth in this list who completed 11000 runs in 286 balls. Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly took 288 ODI innings to do so. Rohit is the fourth Indian to score 11000 runs in ODIs. Before him, Sachin, Kohli, and Ganguly have done this.

Rohit missed playing a big innings.

Rohit and Shubman Gill gave India a good start while chasing the target in their first match of the Champions Trophy against Bangladesh. Rohit was moving towards a half-century but lost his wicket while trying to play a big shot. Rohit was out after scoring 41 runs with the help of seven fours in 36 balls.

Rohit was going through bad form for some time, but he returned to form by scoring a century in the second ODI against England before the Champions Trophy. Rohit scored a century in 76 balls in that match played at the Barabaati Stadium in Cuttack. This was Rohit's 32nd century in ODIs. The last century in ODIs from his bat came against Afghanistan in the ODI World Cup match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on 11 October 2023.

Rohit is among the best limited-overs batsmen. Rohit was not able to score runs for some time, due to which he was facing criticism. Rohit was also in great form in the ODI World Cup 2023 and he used to give a fast start to the team at that time. Rohit tried to do something similar in the first match of the Champions Trophy as well.
