The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is upset with the loss incurred due to the Board of Control for Cricket in India not sending its team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. Amid growing uncertainty over the future of the 2025 Asia Cup, the cricket board is busy hatching a big conspiracy. The tournament has been in limbo since the deadly terrorist attack in Kashmir in which innocent tourists lost their lives and after this, the military tension between India and Pakistan increased.

India has been given the hosting rights of the Asia Cup to be held in September this year. It was already decided that the Pakistan team would not come to play in India. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) had agreed on a hybrid model. This was discussed before the Champions Trophy earlier this year when the Rohit Sharma-led team was not allowed to travel to Pakistan.

Pakistan preparing for tri-series

Due to the silence of the BCCI on the Asia Cup, the PCB has started talks with the Afghanistan Board to organize a tri-series with hosts UAE. According to a PTI report. This plan will be finalized only if the Asia Cup is canceled. “Now that the Asia Cup is unlikely to be held in India in September, the PCB is working on a tri-series proposal,” a PCB source told the news agency.

“The idea is that if the Asia Cup shifts to the UAE, Pakistan will play a tri-series with Afghanistan and UAE in Dubai in August, thereby canceling Afghanistan’s tour of Pakistan,”

Asia Cup 2025 may be cancelled.

The report further states that the PCB has already started talks with both the boards. “If the Asia Cup is cancelled or postponed, the PCB wants the Afghanistan and UAE teams to play a tri-series in Pakistan in August,” the source revealed.

Sources confirmed to PTI that PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the ACC chairman, will soon hold a meeting to decide on the Asia Cup. “The Board of Control for Cricket in India has not yet given its consent to host the Asia Cup. So, it remains to be seen when the ACC Council meets and decides on the future of the Asia Cup in T20 format,”
